There is a time for every event under heaven! The image of the frosted asparagus is a perfect example of appointed time for everything. The day before, the sun brilliantly illuminated these vibrant asparagus seeds. And here the frost brings about a new sensation for our eyes to behold. No complaints from the asparagus, peacefully beautiful in the shining glory… and peacefully beautiful as it meets a new season.

When plans fail. When schedules change. When focus is on our timing. Are you resting in the assurance that God is in control and every event under heaven has an appointed time?

I’ve been hearing from the Lord, “be still, my child.” In the stillness of waiting for answers and His timing, it’s so easy to get distracted. He did not say no. He said “be still.” I am a planner, but not rigid. I like to have answers. As the Lord continues to sharpen me, He is preparing me for the task that lay ahead. From experience, it is better to wait and be strengthened in that season than taking on something I’m not prepared to. In this quiet season, it is a time for cleaning and removing distracting items.
